Just like with the AIDS virus, a much less deadly virus than ebola, there were only supposed to be a handful of people, but now AIDS is a world-wide pandemic, and right this very second ebola is spreading.

As a Dallas native, I’ll be honest with you: I’m scared...

Especially since my wife, like thousands and thousands of other people, works as a nurse. Working in Dallas, she is terrified every day she has to go to work and so are many of the other nurses and even the doctors she works with. They are all having to wear special equipment and do other things they don't normally do so they won't catch ebola.

As soon as I heard the very first report about someone being infected with Ebola, I immediately jumped online and started looking up everything I could find. I found a lot of websites, but there was nothing giving me any real answers about how I could protect myself or my family. I finally found some information that made me realize the truth.

One of my friends is already being monitored

The other day I got the worse news I have ever faced. The wife of one of my good friends called me and told me he is going in to be monitored because he is showing symptoms. I was scared before then, but when one of your friends might die from ebola you are terrified.

I didn't tell his wife this, but one of my first thoughts was "When was the last time me and my family were around them?" I couldn't help it. I care for my friend, he's like my brother, but I also have to protect my family. I still can't believe this is all happening...

I started to panic
